Privacy Policy

1. Overview

MeMachine ("we," "us," the "Service") is a guided-ads platform for local service businesses: we help you record real video of yourself, write ad scripts, automatically edit the footage, and publish the result to a Meta advertising account that you own. This policy explains what data we collect to do that, how we use it, and how you can get it deleted.

This policy applies to the MeMachine web app, mobile-web experience, and this marketing site — including the live voice conversation offered on our home page, which you can use without an account. It does not cover third-party sites we link to, including Meta's own platforms; their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

2. The producer conversation on this website

Our home page offers a short spoken conversation with an AI "producer" that you can start without signing up, creating an account, or filling in a form. Because it is a real conversation rather than a form, it is worth being explicit about what happens to it.

What is captured

• Your microphone audio, for the duration of the preview only. It is streamed to ElevenLabs, our voice-agent provider, which converts your speech to text, runs the conversation, and generates the producer's spoken replies.
• A written transcript of the conversation — both sides — which we retrieve from ElevenLabs after the call ends and store on our own systems.
• Any contact details you mention out loud. The producer may ask your first name and, near the end, the best email address to send follow-up notes to; if you volunteer a phone number or business name, that is captured too. We extract those details from the transcript automatically and store them as a sales lead. Nothing is required — if you decline, the conversation continues normally.
• A summary of your business generated from the transcript (what you do, where, what you said makes you different), so that if you start a trial we do not make you repeat yourself.
• Technical data about the session: your IP address, browser user-agent, the page that referred you, and timestamps. Your IP address is also used to enforce the per-visitor limit on how many preview conversations can be started, which exists to prevent abuse of a paid third-party service.

What we do with it

• Run the conversation itself.
• Follow up with you about MeMachine, if you gave us a way to do so.
• Pre-fill and shorten your onboarding if you go on to start a trial.
• Improve our own product and prompts in aggregate.

We do not sell it, do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and do not use it to train any third party's general-purpose models.

Getting rid of it

You do not need an account to have a preview conversation deleted. Email us with the approximate date and time of your conversation, or the name or email you gave the producer, and we will delete the transcript, the extracted contact details, and the session record, and delete ElevenLabs' copy of the same conversation. See the data deletion page for the exact steps.

You do not have to ask. A preview conversation that never became an account is deleted automatically 12 months after it happened. See Section 8.

If you would rather not have a recorded conversation at all, simply do not press the button — every other part of this site works without it, and you can email us for a walkthrough instead.

3. Data we collect

Account data

• Name, email address, and password (hashed — we never store it in plain text)
• Business details you provide: business name, industry/niche, service area, and similar profile information
• Billing information, handled by our payment processor, Stripe (see Section 7) — we do not store full card numbers ourselves

Voice & intake data

• Audio recordings and/or typed answers from the in-app intake conversation, used to build your business and voice profile
• Transcripts generated from that audio
• Transcripts and extracted details from the website producer conversation described in Section 2

Footage you upload

• Video clips you film through the app (a-roll and b-roll takes), including any audio captured with them
• Metadata about each clip: duration, which script it belongs to, timestamps, and your keep/reject decisions

Clips are stored on servers we run at Fly.io in Dallas, Texas, or in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Both are named in Section 7.

Usage data

• Standard technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, and app interaction logs, collected to operate and secure the Service
• Product analytics. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, on this marketing site and inside the app, so we can see how many people reach each stage of getting an ad made — the home page, the producer conversation, signup, and the first script, take, and published ad. Google sets cookies to recognize a returning browser and receives your IP address, page paths, and the names of those stages. It does not receive your name, email address, phone number, business name, transcripts, or footage: the events we send carry only a stage name and, where relevant, which advertisement brought you here. Where a page address would otherwise contain personal details we put there ourselves — for example the pre-filled signup link the producer conversation generates — we strip them before anything is sent.
• Advertising measurement (Meta). When we advertise MeMachine itself, we measure which of our own advertisements actually led to a trial and a payment. To do that we send Meta a record of four moments — you finished a producer conversation and left contact details, you started a trial, you made your first payment, and the amount of a payment. Unlike the Google analytics above, these records do identify you to Meta if you already have an account there: your email address and phone number are sent as irreversible one-way hashes (Meta compares them against hashes of its own; it never receives the address or the number itself), along with your name, also as a one-way hash, alongside your IP address, browser type, and the amount and currency of the payment. We never send your name in the clear, your business name, anything you said to the producer, or any footage, and page addresses are stripped of any personal details before they are sent. This is measurement of our own advertising only — it is separate from, and never mixed with, the conversion data we handle for your ads under Section 4. You can opt out of this in your Meta ad settings, and browser tracking protection blocks the browser half of it.

4. Data from Meta ("Platform Data")

When you connect your Meta account to publish ads, Meta's login flow (OAuth) shares certain data with us on your behalf — referred to here as Platform Data. This can include:

• Your Meta user ID and basic profile information
• The Pages, ad accounts, and Instagram handles you choose to connect
• Access tokens that let us act on your behalf within the scopes you approve — for example, uploading a video creative or publishing an ad
• Ad account identifiers and campaign/ad IDs for content we help you publish

We request only the Meta permissions required to publish and manage the ads you create through MeMachine. We do not use Platform Data for any purpose other than operating the Service on your behalf, and we do not sell Platform Data or use it for advertising, credit decisions, or surveillance purposes. Platform Data is deleted or its access revoked under the same rules described in Section 8 and Section 9, and immediately upon disconnecting your Meta account, whichever is sooner.

5. How we use your data

• To run the producer conversation on our website and follow up with people who ask us to
• To build your business and voice profile from your intake answers
• To generate ad scripts tailored to your business and niche
• To power the guided filming experience (teleprompter, shot lists)
• To automatically edit your footage into a finished ad (trimming, cutaways, captions)
• To publish ads to the Meta ad account, Page, and Instagram handle you've connected, at your direction
• To operate, maintain, and secure the Service, including billing via Stripe and rate-limiting abuse of the free voice preview
• To communicate with you about your account, your ads, and material changes to the Service

We do not use your footage, transcripts, or business data to market to other businesses, and we do not sell any of it.

6. AI processing of audio, footage, and transcripts

MeMachine uses AI models to do the work you've asked it to do:

• Real-time speech recognition, conversation, and speech synthesis for the producer conversations — both the preview on this website and the full intake inside the app — provided by ElevenLabs
• Speech-to-text transcription of your filmed takes, including word-level timing used to trim dead air — the audio track of each take is sent to ElevenLabs for this
• Large-language-model analysis of your transcripts and niche context to extract contact details, summarize your business, and write scripts in your voice — this runs on Anthropic's Claude models
• Automated video processing (cut detection, cutaway placement, caption generation) applied to your uploaded clips

Some of this processing runs on infrastructure we control directly; some uses third-party AI providers under contract, who process the data solely to return a result to us and are not permitted to use your content to train their own general-purpose models. We do not knowingly send your audio, footage, or transcripts to any AI provider that trains public models on submitted content.

7. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as needed to run the Service:

• ElevenLabs — receives your microphone audio during a producer conversation in order to run it, and holds the conversation transcript on our behalf. It also receives the audio track of the takes you film, to transcribe them
• Meta — to publish the ads and creatives you direct us to publish, using the connection described in Section 4; and, separately, to measure our own advertising for MeMachine, which sends Meta the four conversion moments and the hashed identifiers described in Section 3. You can turn the second one off on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page — see Section 9
• Stripe — to process subscription billing; Stripe receives payment details directly and we receive only billing status and limited metadata
• Anthropic — receives your conversation transcripts and business profile so its Claude models can extract contact details, summarize your business, and write your scripts. Under our terms with Anthropic, it may not use that content to train its models
• Google (Analytics & Tag Manager) — receives the usage data described in Section 3 so we can measure how well the Service works, and nothing else. We do not upload customer lists to Google, do not send it any of the personal details you give us or say to the producer, and do not use it to build advertising audiences
• Fly.io — hosts the application itself, in Dallas, Texas. Your account, footage, transcripts, and scripts sit on servers we run there
• Cloudflare — serves this website, runs our signup, login, and billing systems, and stores the website producer conversations described in Section 2. Uploaded footage is stored in Cloudflare R2 where we use object storage rather than the application server's own disk
• Legal requirements — if required to comply with a valid legal process, protect our rights, or prevent harm

Every company above is a processor working for us under contract. None of them is permitted to use your content for its own purposes, and none of them is paid for your data.

8. Data retention

We keep account data, footage, and transcripts for as long as your account is active, so you can regenerate scripts, re-edit ads, and access your library. When you delete your account in the app, that data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized during the request itself — not on a queue. An email deletion request is completed within 30 days. Either way, a short additional retention period may apply to backups, where the data is purged on the next backup rotation and used for nothing else.

Two things deliberately outlive the account, because neither identifies you: our internal cost ledger, from which your account reference is removed, and aggregate signals about your industry, from which the same reference is removed.

Website producer conversations that never became an account are deleted automatically 12 months after the conversation — the transcript, the contact details extracted from it, the business summary, the IP address, and the session record, plus ElevenLabs' copy. You can ask us to delete one sooner at any time; see Section 9 and the data deletion page, no account required.

9. Your rights & deletion

You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, or delete your account and associated data at any time — and you can request deletion of a website producer conversation even if you never created an account.

Deleting your account is a button in the app: Settings → Delete account, type your account email address to confirm, then Permanently delete my account. One press does all of it. Your Meta connection is revoked with Meta and the access tokens are deleted. Your subscription is cancelled immediately. Your profile, intake answers, transcripts, scripts, footage, assembled ads, reports, and bookings are deleted, and ElevenLabs is told to delete its copy of your producer conversations. You are signed out everywhere. There is no undo and no waiting period.

See our dedicated data deletion instructions for the same steps written out, plus the email fallback if you cannot sign in. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the CCPA or GDPR (for example, the right to data portability or to object to certain processing) — contact us and we'll honor applicable requests.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. The advertising measurement described in Section 3 and Section 7 — the four conversion moments and hashed identifiers MeMachine sends Meta about its own advertising — is a "sale" or "share" under laws like the CCPA/CPRA. You can opt out of it on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, which sets a cookie that stops the browser pixel from loading and tells our server to leave identifying signals out of what little it records. It has no effect on the ads you run through MeMachine for your own business, or on the Google Analytics described in Section 3.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls limiting who can view footage and account data, and hashed password storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your footage and business data with the same care we'd want for our own.

11. Children's privacy

MeMachine is a business tool intended for business owners aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly (for example, by email).
